Scholarship to study an MBA at Harvard
Studying an MBA at Harvard Business School (HBS) is the dream of many people. Harvard Business School is the first institution in history to offer an MBA in the world. Today, more than 100 years later, its MBA remains one of the most prestigious and coveted on the planet. However, the economic factor can make many people give up on this long-awaited dream. Now, imagine achieving that dream thanks to a scholarship !
One of the options you have to finance your studies at this prestigious university is the scholarship offered by the Boustany Foundation , which was founded in 2006 by Nabil Boustany and his son Fadi Boustany. This foundation seeks to help people evolve and leave a positive mark on the world. Therefore, through this scholarship, they seek to support highly talented people with the opportunity to maximize their potential , as they can have a high impact beyond their fields of study. The first Boustany scholarship awarded was in 1997 to an MBA student from the University of Cambridge , before the foundation was created! Since then, this support has been extended to students from various fields and plans have been made to create more opportunities in the years to come for extraordinary students.
The Boustany MBA Harvard Scholarship is a scholarship that is awarded once every two years with a duration for a 2-year course at Harvard Business School , regardless of the student's academic discipline. The candidate profile that this scholarship requires is to have excellent academic performance and show promise . There are no limitations regarding nationality, but priority will be given to candidates of Lebanese descent. It is worth mentioning that you will be able to apply for the scholarship once you have been admitted to an MBA program offered by Harvard University and, if you have ever taken any MBA, you will not be considered for the scholarship.
The benefits that this scholarship offers are financial aid for tuition for US$95,000 (US$47,500 per year), as well as travel and lodging expenses for an internship . The condition of granting this scholarship is that you will have to carry out a two-month unpaid internship at The Boustany Foundation , where you will participate in projects related to the activities of the Foundation or its partners.
If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, you must send a copy of your CV with photograph, GMAT score and admission letter to the email: admissions@boustany-foundation.org . If you are shortlisted, you could be invited to an interview with the Foundation and, subsequently, only one candidate will be chosen as a recipient of the scholarship. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2021 for the Fall 2021 class, and the scholarship will be provided in the month of June 2021.
Although this academic support is very competitive , it is important that you know that any student accepted to Harvard will have other very attractive scholarship and financing options available to them . To begin with, where you can start looking for financial support is at the Harvard school that includes the postgraduate program of your interest, in this case, Harvard Business School . Also, you can seek support from different foundations, such as the one mentioned above, that offer both scholarships and accessible financing options to study abroad. If you are Latino (Peruvian, Colombian, Venezuelan, Chilean, Mexican, among many others), we recommend that you read the entry How to get a scholarship at Harvard? Guide for Latinos where we talk about the steps to follow to obtain educational support to be able to study at Harvard.
Even if you are a Mexican accepted at HBS or any other Harvard school or faculty, you can obtain scholarships and loans from the Mexico Foundation at Harvard, which we also discussed in the aforementioned entry. However, if you want to learn more about the Fundación México en Harvard (FMH), visit their site: https://fundacionharvard.org
Do not limit yourself to obtaining a scholarship or funding for your studies from a single institution since, by doing this, you will be limiting your opportunity to pursue an MBA at Harvard. Many of the scholarships and financing offered are complementary, so what one financial support does not cover can be covered by another. However, even with all this aid, it is important that you consider that it may be necessary to supplement your study expenses with personal savings.
